A New Buckingham Fades

I may have to duck out for a cocktail as I've got the cabin fever.
Here's more future Fantagraphics work on the boil as seen below-.

Needless to say, I need to get out of here before I start writing about the similarities between Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" album and Wire's "154". I'm totally serious but i'll save that for another time. In the meantime break out your copy of the Stooges "Funhouse" and listen to "Hurt". Now there's a Joy Division template if I ever heard one. Don't get me wrong- I love them both. Anyways-

Re; "Tusk" The accompanying promotional film was often played as a fill-in segment by Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) TV channels during the 1980s (the single had enjoyed its highest international chart placing in Australia, peaking at #3 in the singles charts).
And I missed it.Damn.
I prefer the early stuff with Peter Green, but I suppose tusk could stand to be revisited.

Did you mean "dirt" or is there something you've unearthed that I don't know about? (ha, unearthed)
Yes, so right on, the guitar and bass sound is really similar. Great catch, surprised I didn't think of that before.

OK- This is the gist- Lindsey Buckingham was digging on the punk rock and was trying to utilize and harness that energy and spark within their multi-million dollar recording facility circa 1979. Now, I venture that Buckingham heard Wire's 154 album and was heavily influenced from the three part harmony of the end of Wire's "Single K.O." and utilized that for Tusk's "That's All For Everyone". It's a very small bit but I couldn't help but notice the similarities. It's seems too weird a harmony for casual coincidence, but I know I could be wrong. Eh?

I feel quite sorry to say that almost any wire release is pretty far from my grasp for comparison purposes.
I'll have to get back to you, but I would trust your judgment. I'm sadly more familiar with "tusk".
I liked that wire were quoted regarding the 2006 re-release :
such additions dishonour the "conceptual clarity of the original statements."
By the way, do you have a copy of "go insane"?

What kind of man would I be if I didn't own "Go Insane"? Wait, don't answer that-
